If you are going to engage in dog politics, then you need to define your values. These will help guide you in deciding what to say, do, and publish. Here are my dog politics values:

1. Promotion of the No Kill / Low Kill model of animal rescue;
2. Financial accountability
3. Fraud prevention
4. Responsible domestic animal ownership, and wild animal conservation
5. Ethical and professional operation of animal rescue organizations
6. Humane euthanasia
7. Increase public awareness of animal rescue
8. Implementation of Animal Rescue Best Practices
9. Lawful animal rescue operations
10. Promotion of animal and environmental conservation through sound scientific practices
11. The natural habitat of dogs and cats is with humans; companion animals have performed work for humans throughout time and we support continued humane roles in human society
12. Pets should only be bred for form and function; to have a home with humans; using modern breeding science; in behaviorally sound manner so as to promote good temperament; to not increase pet homelessness or neglect.
