Is your puppy aggressive towards you? And what should you do about that?
It isn’t normal for young puppies to be aggressive towards their owners unless the dog is seriously ill or the owner is treating the dog too roughly. If the dog is not well, then a visit to the veterinarian is indicated and medical tests should be performed. If the dog is defending itself against your clumsy, rough, or unfair handling… then STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!! You shouldn’t be provoking true aggression in your puppy. No puppy should be treated or managed in a way that causes them to feel like they have to defend themselves against whatever you are doing to them. You need to hire a professional dog trainer and do things right.
We also need to discuss the difference between aggression and intense play. Is the dog truly attacking you, growling, baring his teeth, and biting hard? That is a serious problem and you are probably doing something stupid with your dog. Or is it that you are just saying your dog plays too rough with you? Is it that your dog maybe bangs into you too hard, or mouths you too hard when roughhousing with you? If that is the case… that IS NOT AGGRESSION. That is rough play, and with proper guidance, a good dog trainer can show you how to better exercise and play with your dog.
Either way, if you are in this circumstance, you ARE NOT going to find good answers on the internet. You need to hire a professional and do things properly.
