What do you do about a dog that is afraid of the back seat of your car?
Whenever a dog is afraid, you need to slow down what you are doing and puzzle out what is going on. It is a mistake to just shove a dog into an enclosed area when it is afraid.
I know of a number of incidents where people were pretty severely bitten, requiring a visit to the hospital, after being bitten in such circumstances. It is especially foolish to give this job to one of your kids to handle. Or someone outside your family, where you end up with a major lawsuit and with your dog being put to death.
Sometimes, this is a relatively simple thing to fix. Sometimes, it is more complicated. Sometimes, your dog might even be telling you that they are being hurt by someone and it is a clue of ongoing animal abuse. Or the dog is sensing some kind of danger and you are ignoring what your dog is telling you.
This is one of those situations where you need to hire a professional to help you.
