Sam Basso No Kill Dog Shelter
I’m seeking volunteers, professionals, and donors to help me start a No Kill Shelter in Phoenix, AZ

I have been, and always shall be, an active dog rescue volunteer and advocate. I have donated countless hours over the years to dog rescue. For example, when I lived in Seattle, I worked to help save hundreds of Mastiffs, even being guest speaker for two AKC national Mastiff events. In Phoenix, I have continued this work. Most of my Facebook friends are dog rescue volunteers. And I donate my time and money to dog rescue. Here are a number of things I am involved with:

Adoptions: Are you looking to adopt a rescue dog? Get me details, and I’ll help you find the right dog for your home. There are many great dogs out there that just need some love, a good home, and some basic training. I can put you in touch with the right people, too. No need to go to animal control to look for a dog when you don’t know what you are doing. Let a rescue group help you find that perfect dog for your home.

Donations: Do you want to donate money or time to dog rescue? I know a lot of good causes, good rescues, and specific dogs that could use your help TODAY! Help make this a better world. We can all do something to help. If you are a high dollar donor, then I also have ideas for you, too. You could make the difference in the lives of thousands of dogs, if you donate your money wisely in the right project. I have good ideas. Let’s talk.

Free Training: If your organization is a registered 501 (c) 3, tax exempt dog rescue organization, I will offer free lessons to help the dogs in your care. The objective is not to turn these dogs into obedience champions. The idea is to make these dogs adoptable. I fit these lessons in between my paying customers, so I don’t have unlimited amounts of time for this, but I usually can fit any request into my schedule. I’ll meet you at the shelter, work with your volunteers, help evaluate your dogs, give your volunteers advice, and give you solutions to address the behavioral problems your dogs are exhibiting. Most trainers charge for this help. I don’t. I only charge once the dog is out of rescue and owned by someone. Then, they are a student, and I want that dog to not end up back in rescue because the people do something stupid with the dog.

Networking: I know a good number of good dog rescue groups and volunteers. Please “friend” me on Facebook if you are part of a reputable rescue organization, and let’s share information on rescue dogs. My primary focus is on the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Fundraising Consultations: I have many years of experience in non profit fundraising, dating back to when I was in college. I can give you some free fundraising ideas. I can also be hired to help professionalize your fundraising efforts: lists, sales, hiring, data tracking, and such. Dog rescues are always broke… and it doesn’t have to be that way.

Dog Politics: I have strong ideas regarding dog laws, the good and bad press that dogs get, social issues regarding dogs, etc. If you have a dog issue, contact me and let’s see what we can do. I don’t want to run for office. I don’t want to be the one in front of the cameras. I’m not doing this for fortune and fame. I just care about animal welfare, especially dogs. I don’t want to get into a debate with you over dogs. This is a pro-dog web page, and I am a pro-dog advocate. If I can assist you behind the scenes, then please contact me.
