First Steps Training Your Dog

Dogs can become hypervigilant, looking for danger where it doesn’t exist and seeking stimulus that isn’t relevant to your presence, and too impulsive and having difficulty regulating their behavior. That imbalance is corrected as we get your dog to accept and look forward to more social interactions and all environments. We need reciprocating competent social exchanges with you, friendly people, and other dogs so as to make secure attachments with you and other family members. It might seem frustrating to work some of the exercises at the beginning. It takes time for a dog’s brain to make these connections and we are looking to establish optimal emotional states. Your homework exercises are selected to help make that rebalancing happen.
