There are a lot of fun things you can do with your dog.
SWIMMING: For example, I do dog swimming lessons in the summer. A number of dogs die every year by drowning in the backyard pool. Here in Arizona, it is a MUST for your dog to have at least the skills of swimming without panicking, and knowing how to get out of the pool on their own. Watch A Swimming Lesson!
The fun stuff is if your dog likes to retrieve, so you can exercise your dog in the heat by playing fetch in the pool. NOT ALL DOGS KNOW HOW TO SWIM, and many will drown if they fall in. You can prevent this with lessons, and add a new fun activity for your dog during the hot summer months. The only requirements are that you have a clean and safe pool environment, your dog is in good health, your dog is friendly, and your dog is under 5 years of age (older dogs can have health problems if having to exert themselves too hard swimming). Exceptions can be made if approved by your veterinarian in writing. Some dogs need some obedience training before they should be introduced to swimming. ADVANCED FETCH: There are a number of advance Fetch exercises that many dogs and owners will find fun and challenging.
FIND IT GAMES: There are a number of fun hide and seek games that your dog can be taught.
TRACKING: Many dogs can be taught to track and find lost people or objects. Most dogs find this quite enjoyable.
Call me and let’s set up lessons.
