I trained both Diva and Baron, Bernese Mountain Dogs. Baron was the first, and he took a bit of work since this breed is normally a bit defiant when you start working with them. Diva was then a referral from Baron’s owners, since they were so happy about how he turned out. This is them later at a birthday party. Things worked out well!

Every dog, without exception, needs Obedience Training. If your dog is over 16 weeks of age, it is time to enroll in classes. And it is also time for YOU to get training, too. Don’t let anyone fool you: dog training takes time and dedication. It starts with Basic Obedience. You’ve got to have that.

Basic Obedience I: BEGIN HERE… I teach you and your dog the essential skills of: Sit, Down, Sit out of Motion, Down out of Motion, Sit/Stay, Down/ Stay, Come, Heel, Adult Manners, Basic Handler Skills & Training Theory. This is the course to take to solve 99% of your dog’s manners and obedience problems.

Basic Obedience II: THEN, IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR EVEN HIGHER LEVEL PERFORMANCE, THIS IS THE NEXT LEVEL… Once you have that level of training, then you might consider more skills and capabilities, and go onto my Advanced Courses. Maybe you want more control in public. Or, you are thinking of enrolling your dog in a therapy dog program, and want to pass the tests involved. Maybe you want your dog to swim, and possibly obey commands while in the water (such as retrieving on command). Advanced Courses increase your skills and control of your dog in public settings and at a distance. If you put your dog in complex situations, off leash, and in public, then you need to continue into the Advanced Courses. You have choices here to decide what direction you want the training to follow, depending on your future plans for your dog. These classes can stress Distance Control, Off Leash Control, Intermediate Heel/ Sit/ Down/ Stand/ Come/ Send Away, Intermediate Fetch, Intermediate Behavioral Modification, Beginning Tracking, Intermediate Handler Skills & Training Theory.
